Well at least in terms of assessment work. :D

Yeah I had to hand in an Essay on Monday, which I spent a very late night on Sunday finishing off. So Monday was tiring, even more so because I had to skip two of my lessons to make sure I had my essay because when I tired to print it out in the morning the file was corrupted. So went all the way home to check everything was ok then go back to the library to print it off and then hand it in.

Then spent the week doing my second assessment due in today and also had a late night last night finishing it up. I'm really tired now and I really should be sleeping and I'm not sure why I'm not. Got it handed in though so it's worth it.

I'm also sure I've failed NaNoWriMo because I haven't done anything in the past two weeks due to assessments. I'm going to try and catch up over the weekend but it won't be enough. :(

It was worth a go and I'm glad for the experience. I'm still going to be working on the story and using the time I'd set aside for writing it. I might start working on other things, ‘cause I'm a writer ;), but I'll still be working on this till I get it done.

I like it that much. Story, characters, random bits and pieces I'd thought up but hadn't actually put in the story yet.

I just can't be arsed with this anymore.

Fuck it all!

Edit: All raged out. lol

Venting has happened so it's not pent up in me and I don't do something stupid (like make vague angry LJ posts).

I'm ok. Just need to remember to not do something that annoys me so much now. :D

So I went to bed last night and got undressed, this morning I woke up with clothes on. 8|

I don't remember getting up in the middle of the night for anything and it can't have been because I was cold 'cause I wasn't wearing socks and my feet were freezing and I wasn't wearing much on the top either.

I think I might've gotten up to take a piss in the night. But my door's a little broken so I can effectively "lock" it without a lock, so navigating that while asleep, or there abouts, is questionable.

This is going to bug me all day. ;)

I've managed to do about 2000 words today. I still need to do some catch-up work if I'm going to make 50,000 by the end of the month. Going into the library tomorrow with little distractions should help.

I might have been able to do more today if I didn't get stuck doing detailed descriptions of my main character in what I've named “The Suit” I had an image in my head before hand, but it's the finer details and how it all fits together and works that had me stumbling a bit. Managed to get it done though, so hopefully tomorrow will be easier and I'll get more done.

I've also nearly finished watching a cartoon I discovered about a month ago, Oban Star Racers. It's very good, with great characters and a well written screwed up father/daughter relationship. And surprisingly enough they've managed to make both the story and the races themselves rather unpredictable. It also has some great alien and racer designs that go from Steampunk to Cyberpunk to Transhumanist to the just plain creepy.

If you can do have a look at it, it's a blast.

Well I got another 1000 words done today and finished up in a very nice place. However I wish I could've gotten more done and I would've if it wasn't for that damned interweb.

Curse you INTERWEBS!!!

Also had to attend the Grant allocation meeting for societies, which did cut into my writing time unfortunately, which went reasonably well. Some little bumps here and there but other wise it wasn't a painful ordeal.

Also Anicom has swapped out Macross Frontier for Clone High (at least temporally till there's a decision for what the new show will be, I assume) which I find hilarious because it means they got rid of the one show I wanted to watch for a show I couldn't care less about. :P

Oh well so long as the majority of people are enjoying it it doesn't matter. As the saying goes, "you can't please everyone". ;)

I feel somewhat better now. I was fine on Tuesday and today, but there are still some lingering effects from the bug (like a cough and other things). :(

However because of this my writing has slowed to a crawl and I haven't done much in the past few days. I'm hoping to go into the library tomorrow and not come out till I've reasonably caught up.

Hope I'm not in there all day 'cause I've got a meeting at 5pm. ;)

I think I'm ill, again!

Due to various... things (which I'm sure no one wants to hear about) I think I might have some sort of bug. I felt something off during TV Soc and getting an ever increasing headache.

All of which is not good when I'm trying to write 2000 words. I'll try to write something, but I doubt I'll be able to do 2000 tonight. :(

Got 2,074 words done so far. Not a bad start and if I hadn't gotten distracted by the internet I'd probably gotten more written.

Curse you Internets!!!

Also upon writing the line I immediately thought of the last line of the novel:

First "Bitch stole my shoe!"

And

Last "Now if I could only find my shoe?"

They've got nothing to do with each other at all I just thought it was funny. XD

Now lets how much I can do tomorrow when I've little to no free time till 9pm. ;)

Geoff's convinced me to do the national novel writing month this year, along with himself, and tomorrow I'll be starting to write about 1500-2000 words a day for the month.

I'm hoping to post my progress throughout the month and hopefully it'll give me a buzz when I'm feeling the pressure.

I've got a lot planned out but there are a few blank spots that I should be able to deal with when I get to them.

Wish me luck.

Came up with the best idea for a kids cartoon (ages 4-6) ever today.

Barbie Princess and Robocop. Together they solve crimes!

So people don't like watching the Wire and find it boring.

Duly noted. Adjusting list of shows accordingly.

Gah
Just found out that my bank details were stolen. :(

Luckily I only lost, maybe, £50 and I should be able to get that back. I should be getting a call sometime at the start of the week to sort that out.

The result of this that I now don't have a card to use, since my has been cut off and in little pieces now, and a new should be sent to my home-home sometime next week.

Not fun.

OK so I've had my first day back at uni doing actual course stuff and the first meeting of TV & Movies Soc.

Course stuff )

I've also gotten over the flu I had from Thursday night. Hit me hard on Saturday night and all of Sunday where my muscles just didn't want to move due to feeling too exhausted. I took some Lemsip on Sunday night, which tasted awful BTW, but I felt fine this morning.

It's now mainly just a cough that can get a bit annoying but is easily calmed down.

TV & Movies first session )

I think I've got freshers flu. After I'd gotten in on Thursday my throat was soar and drinking did nothing to help. Yesterday I was pretty exhausted and couldn't stop coughing. Of course being in a room with freshers for hours on end it's kinda obvious that I've picked up something.

Feeling a bit better today. Coughing still there but my throat feels better. Hopefully it'll be gone by the end of the weekend.

Good news is that I think I've sorted out my course finally. Done the enrolment form they managed to get around to sending me and I've been told that's all I need to do.

I'm sure something's going to cock up on Monday, 'cause it always does, but for now everything looks fine.

Ok so that was long and my feet want to kill me.

Stall and Society stuff )

Also, finally, got my copy of the second Gargoyles tpb from Amazon today. Soooo good. Probably finish reading it and read it again (good non-linear narratives FTW!) tomorrow since I'll be helping out where I can for the Anicom stall and trying to sort out my course.

I'm not actually enrolled yet due to a cock up with my transfer from school departments. They said it would be Thursday at the latest when it'd get done so if nothing's been sorted by tomorrow afternoon I'm going to have to chase them up to see what's what.

Hopefully it’ll get done by Monday or else I won’t be able to do my course.

Enrolment is tomorrow and then the rest of Welcome Week. I will be extremely busy going to welcome lectures, sorting out society stuff (risk assessment, room booking, and the welcome stall), helping out with other societies, and going to the gaming day.

I'm also thinking of keeping my beard I've grown over summer.

OK so after some administration bungles, where they literally told me to do something they'd previously told me not to do, I've finally gotten confirmation that I'm on my course. :D

Got my welcome week timetable and reading lists for modals (which I must start downloading ;) ) and they sent me an "Essential Guide to Full Time Students" even though I should be a part-time student.

I'll need to sort out finances now since I couldn't really do anything before because I didn't know for certain if I was getting on the course or not.

At least I actually know I'm a student now.

Also the Gas man has just been around to check the meter, and apparently anything else that uses gas, and ended up destroying part of the kitchen to look at the water heater. He just decided he needed to see the very top of the heater so he tried to remove the fixed in place part of the cabinet that clearly cannot and should not be removed unless remodelling the kitchen. So now we have another part of the kitchen that is visibly broken.

I get the feeling whenever we do move out the Landlord will try to our deposit due to things that were broken before we moved in or things that became broken because of things out of our control.

Anyway he left saying he'll be in touch after he talks to the landlord about a few things. Didn't say what these "things" were but it didn't sound good. Although given our track record it’s likely we won’t hear from him ever again.

OK so this little story has broken out onto the internet you may have heard something about but I doubt it since practically no one is talking about it, that Disney now owns Marvel.

Now it's just been reported that several days ago Sony returned the TV rights (including the animated television rights) for Spider-Man back to Marvel in exchange for "some concession vis-a-vis the live action Spider-Man features".

Source Greg Weisman's site:

"1. Last Thursday (8/27/09), Vic Cook and I were informed that in exchange for some concession vis-a-vis the live action Spider-Man features, Sony returned the television rights (including the animated television rights) for Spider-Man to Marvel. This took place the day before ComicCon, I'm told. But I was only informed of it this past week.

2. Today (8/31/09) comes the news that Disney has purchased Marvel outright.

NOW, before you ask -- before you post a thousand duplicate and/or overlapping questions to ASK GREG -- let me be clear: I have NO IDEA what this means for either Gargoyles or The Spectacular Spider-Man. Neither of these developments are by definition good news or bad news. Shocking news, sure. But how it will play out for either or both properties is a complete mystery to me. As soon as I have ANY information on either property, I will post it here at ASK GREG. Until then, don't ask. Seriously. Just don't. There's just no point in bogging down the queue with questions I have no answer to. Thank you for your cooperation."

Now this doesn't mean Spectacular Spider-Man is dead, or that it'll be picked up for season 3 by Disney (as it's currently running on Disney XD in the US).

The only thing I can say is that Disney holds all the cards and the deck box they came in, as well as the printing press they came from.

So the million pound question is: what does Sony have planned for the movies?
